Gospel heartthrob to star in new BET+ Original movie
Last week Jonathan McReynolds surprised his 1million Instagram followers with a sneak peak of his new BET+ Original movie “Favourite Son,” set to air on 6th May.
And no, McReynolds doesn‘t just make a cameo appearance in the movie; he plays a leading role. Based on Tiffany L Warren’s book “The Favourite Son,” the adapted screenplay sees McReynolds star alongside “Power” actor Rotimi , Christian Singer/Songwriter Anthony Evans, Soul Train Music Award winner Keke Wyatt , “Hunger Games” actor E Roger Mitchell and “Empire’s” Serayah.
Directed by actress Robin Givens , “The Favourite Son” tells the story of two musically gifted brothers Blaine and Camden, who also happen to be PK’s (Pastor’s Kids). When the flamboyant and charismatic Blaine rocks the crowd at church with his electrifying performance , Dad decides to have the brothers play a more dominant role in the church’s music ministry and Sunday services, much to the chagrin of the quieter songwriting brother - Camden.
A chance music opportunity from an industry executive (played by Anthony Evans) leaves Camden torn. Is the golden opportunity worth being cutoff by his dad and destroying his relationship with his brother? Is family truly the most important thing or is it time for him to forge his own path in life?
To find out what ensues make sure you watch the movie on the 6th May.
