Premier Gospel Awards 2018 winners announced
The eclectic sound of contemporary UK Gospel music was evident at the highly anticipated Premier Gospel Awards Ceremony with Best Album being won by Hip Hop artist Triple O, for his project ‘Zero Not Equal To None’.
Hosted by Premier Gospel presenters Lady T and Theo Manderson, the 3rd edition of the awards took place on April 14th in Croydon. The Premier Gospel Awards have fast become the most dedicated and important Gospel music award ceremony in the UK. The high profile event celebrates established artists such as Noel Robinson - who won the award for Best Male, whilst successfully providing a coveted platform to rising stars such as Charles Dada - who won Best Newcomer.
Muyiwa Olarewaju, Premier Gospel Station Director added "We’re so happy with what Premier Gospel have achieved and the artists we have been able to work with and support by shining a light on their music since the launch of the awards. I and the team congratulate all the nominees and winners.”
The award ceremony itself was an explosive affair with drawing out some of the biggest names in the industry such as MOBO Award winner Guvna B and African Gospel artist Sammie Okposo who flew in from the USA especially to be at the awards. Live performances thought the ceremony from Becca Folkes, Faith Child, Called Out Music and renowned London Community Gospel Choir lead by Bazil Meade rounded off what was an exceptional night of celebration.
