RCCG leading by example
On Sunday 2nd August, RCCG (The Redeemed Christian Church of God) Hackney opened their doors to host a registration drive with multi award-winning blood cancer charity ACLT (African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust).
As a leading blood cancer charity, ACLT’s mission is to raise awareness and register potential donors onto the stem cell (bone marrow), blood and organ donation, with a particular focus on registering individuals who are of African and Caribbean heritage. The reason for their work is simply due to the severe lack of individuals signed to the registers from these communities.
With the assistance from Pastor Dr David Sola Oludoyi, ACLT were able to register over approximately 245 potential stem cell, blood and organ donors all of West African (primarily Nigerian) descent! A fantastic start to the new month and with amazing support from the chief Pastor Dr David Sola Oludoyi who led by example by signing up as a stem cell donor alongside his wife.
Premier Gospel have teamed up with ACLT to spread awareness on the lack of BME (Black Minority Ethnic) donors currently registered on the UK stem cell register and the fantastic work they do for community.
Together with ACLT, Premier Gospel hope to encourage many of our listeners to join the stem cell register, particularly our African and Caribbean brothers and sisters to ensure a lifeline is available to someone who may need it.
